Whats the biggest, easiest, quickest spawn to kill for holiday drops?
I've always gone with undead from gates of kryta, but I'm wondering with the current drop rates being so amazing is there a better place?

Vaettirs in Jaga Moraine.
Possibly Raptors outside Rata Sum.

vaettir have 60 foes you kill in a couple minutes and just zone back to bjora marches and then back into jaga to reset spawns. raptors have 34 foes to kill that takes about a minute to kill and zone back into rata sum by either using a leecher or just resigning. if you do raptors and you aren't using leechers make sure to zone out of rata sum then back in so when you resign you spawn at the portal and don't have to run across the whole town

Just to throw out one more option, I've been farming the first two waves of the snowmen in the Koris Deeprunner dungeon (HM). I know it might not be the most optimal farm but some people might want to try something different. Basically with Shadowform up, you don't take any damage. Personally I do it with the Ranger/Assassin combo and use whirling defense to wipe out both groups in a single blow. The trick is to ball them up so there are no stragglers.

Is there nothing better? The undead farm is under 3 minutes for 32 kills, with the added bonus of a tradeable item during holidays for more consumables.
The farm is in NM, so for other drops vaettir is a good substitute, but right now I only care about holiday drops trying to max booze title.

Imo, raptors are the best way to farm holiday drops.
A fast vaettir run will take about 2 mins and a few seconds, plus the time to zone back (10 secs maybe? or more?).
A raptor run takes 45 seconds, and you only need a second or 2 to resign.
Vaettirs: 60 foes in 2 mins 15 sec
Raptors= 30/33 foes in 50 sec
The math says raptors win.

Depends.
I wouldn't call 60 Vaettirs in 2:15 "fast".
I do 36 Vaettirs in 1:07 (video).
BUT this needs a 2nd account as a doorman, to make the turnaround as fast as /resign for raptors.
I LOL @ the 45sec Raptor claims. Video please, because all the time I leeched Raptor runs, I never saw anyone get anywhere near that. Using the times that I actually SAW people do Raptor runs, the maths says Vaettirs win.
And anyway - any differences between Vaettirs/Raptors is much less significant in this particular event, because you have to spend a large amount of time picking up all those drops!

You're assuming it takes 2+ mins to do Vaettir, it's really not hard to do it under lol

Nice video, haven't seen that method before. Does it still work?
Not that I'm going to bother wheeling out a new farming character, at this stage in GW.
(GW2 will be out before there's another event to farm).

Still works, but it's faster to just use a second account to gate for you instead of jumping out yourself :P

When i do Vaettir, my timer is always still 2 minutes by the time im zoning back. Large number of gold items for ID and there are 60 (not 36). Vaettir are for farming drops so just kill them all.
There is too much of chance of failure with Raptors so i dont farm them, sorry.
I love to farm gargoyles as R/A. It only require at most 4 skills and enchant weapon. no special armor or anything They drop 12-13 granite, old school gold items, and regular and Elite tomes for Monk, Ele, and Mesmer. My counter always shows
1 minute when i resign. PM if you want info.

Neither would I. I call decently fast a 2 min and 5 sec run for 60 kills, in the 15 sec the zoning back was included.
This is how I do it, but I dont take any credit for the tactics as I shamelessly stole them from another video I saw :P

Me doing it a lot of time ago, its still exactly the same after the updates.. Its more like 50 secs and not 45.

Btw, I dont have a second account to use to zone back and forth, so the fast vaettir farm cannot be applied in my case

With the build I use the chance of failure at raptors is.... 0%, if your connection is decent.

Jeez the op asks a question and theres answers and bickering.
In answer to the ops question
This is in no order -
Raptors , Vaetires , snowmen , gargoyles , possibly gates of kryta/bergen>cursed lands>iron curtain then back to bergen via cursed lands ( basically a sort of loop - its also undead farm ).
Most of these except the undead farm require aoe dmg - undead requires just holy dmg.Btw if you think carefully you will realise the oldest farm and one still going ( ppl still farm it ) is both the gates of kryta farm and the undead farm

Farming the Mantids with A/R outside of Nahpui Quarter in HM also yields very decent drops (also many celestial golds).
Dragon Moss farming with a 55HP Monk outside of Saint Anjeka's Shrine is also pretty good for Echovald drops.
If you are purely out to farm event drops and finishing your ID title, then Vaetirs and Raptors win hands down, but it is always good to vary your farming spots.

Did u read my post? i counted the destroyers at glint challenge last time 62 after 3min + 1min to kill(+1min to collect drops+rezone). So this is atleast #3.
and tbh i think raptor and vaettire farm is soooo boring if you do this longer than 3hours u must have some kind of genetic defect.

Just to offer a time comparison, I timed myself doing a snowman run. Time to enter map and then nuke the snowmen (not counting time to pick up drops to re-zone) was 1:20. Again not saying this is the farm to do or anything but considering they are right there and it's fairly easy (compared to raptors), it's not half bad.

There use to be a Troll farm back in the day just north of Droknar's using a w/mo build, not sure if it works anymore. Think it was a cyclone axe build, you could also use the same thing for the minotuar in elona reach, but again don't know if it still works and it wouldn't be better than the farms today, but still something different.
You can also just go make your own, just pick a random mission and make a build that suits it like this one.
Not fast but its a change
